About 1/2 hour east of Rostov Veliky, Russia, is the town of Lazartsevo. This village is home to the church of St. Andrew the First-Called.
As can be seen in the photos below, the church needed a lot of work. From bottom to top, from the walls to the dome, plaster and paint were falling off, and needed to be replaced.
The village is located about 1 km from the right bank of the river Edom . It stretches parallel to the federal highway and its north-western outskirts practically come into contact with the village of Artemyevo , which already stands directly on the banks of Edom.
The post office located in the town of Tutaev serves 35 houses in the village of Lazartsevo.
For years, the local church in Lazartsevo had fallen into disrepair, but recent efforts have been made to restore the church to its former glory.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, and the efforts of our workers, the exterior has been repaired, and the church has been transformed!
Walls and foundations have been plastered, primed, and painted. Windows and doors have been repainted. And the cross on the dome has been repaired. Thanks to all the restoration efforts, the church is now quite beautiful:
